GOD’S SONNETS

“Please ME, not man”

Father God, thank You that we are to please YOU and not man. We please YOU when we please HIM, Your Son and our Savior and Deliver (BOTH), Jesus Christ. Down here, it is just so tempting to want to please man so that we are liked. We often will want man’s “validate” and “justify” (BOTH) over Yours, Father God. But it is ONLY You, Father God, who validates and justifies (BOTH) us the ONLY way You can. This will require an “e’man’cipate and a “man” is “goodbye.” That’s not to say we need to kick “man” to the curb. It simply is to say that ONLY You, Father God through Jesus Christ, can truly “man”age our lives. “Man”euver us, Father God, as we “please ME, not man.” “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to ME, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14). Help us, Father God, to stay always young as Peter Pan! On a more personal note, this God Sonnet once again arrives to me from Father God at EXACTLY the right time. I spend so much time trying to please man that I can often forget that I am to please Jesus. And that I want to be liked so much by man is simply me not liking myself all that much. Thank God, Father God, that I am liked by You as ONLY You can. Once again, not to kick “man” to the curb but simply to “come to ME, little child Timothy. Please ME, not man.” I LOVE the picture of the woman seemingly trying to please her cat. I LOVE that she met her cat at EXACTLY where her cat was. That’s not so much to “please cat” as it is “please ME,” for Jesus certainly meets cats at EXACTLY where they are. 🐱 I pray all of this in the Wonderful and Precious and “Man”euver Name of Jesus Christ, and this prayer is answered by my faith and my belief (BOTH). “Please ME,” Father God, where my faith and my belief (BOTH) are lacking. Amen.

(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in ‘please ME, not man’ this daily leavened [Jesus ‘Man’ages!] bread.)

You are to please God and not to please man.

But you want them to like you “validate.”

God validates you as only God can.

Please God, not man, for your “e’man’cipate.”

I am to please God and not to please man.

But I want them to like me “justify.”

God justifies me as only God can.

Please God, not man, for my “man” is “goodbye.”

“‘Man’euver! Please ME and not to please man,”

says Jesus. “My Direction is to ‘man’age ME.

‘Man’euver ME as you ‘man’age My Plan.

My Plan is not to please man but please ME.”

Wanna stay always young as Peter Pan?

“Come to ME, little child. Please ME, not man.”
