LOSE THE WORLD, GAIN THE SOUL

man in white dress shirt and brown pants sitting on white wooden bench
Father God, thank You that we lose the world, gain the soul. This God Sonnet was inspired by the Bible Verse: “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? (Mark 8:36). If gain world’s approval, we lose our soul. If lose world’s approval, we gain our soul. The world’s goal and poll (BOTH) is to make us think God approves us less whole, that God does not rank first in our lives, thus less console. Your Son and our Savior and Deliverer, Jesus Christ, has the solution to this “less.” “I AM the gaining their soul.” He Approves “BE,” BE God’s Approval, it BE done our soul. What profit there BE if the world we stroll, sought approval? Lose the world, gain the soul. Lose the world, gain Jesus! The picture attached shows a man sitting on a bench who has won an award, obviously admiring his accomplishment. But notice it is just him and his award on the bench. Where is everybody else post the award? This is what gain world’s approval, lose our soul, looks like. We have gained the world, but we have lost everyone and we have lost our soul (BOTH). On a more personal note, i am only writing this because that is me on that bench! i want all the world’s approval of me and, thus, stand a good chance to lose my soul in the process. Thank You, Father God, that you already approve of me whole and, thus, more console. Thank You that i lose the world, gain the soul. Thank You that i lose the world, gain Jesus! i pray all of this in the Wonderful and Precious and Gaining Name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every other name, including my own name. This prayer is answered by my faith and my belief. Please help me, Father God, where my faith and belief are gain the world, lose the soul. Amen.

(God’s Sonnet by timothy j. verret; “it’s how i cope to hope [BOTH] that i lose the world, gain my soul, this daily leavened bread.”)

If gain world’s approval, you lose your soul.

If lose world’s approval, you gain your soul.

If gain God’s Approval, you lose world’s goal

to make you think God Approves less you whole.

If gain world’s approval, i lose my soul.

If lose world’s approval, i gain my soul.

If gain God’s Approval, i lose world’s poll

that ranks others before God, less console.

“If gain world’s approval, you may lose ME.”

says Jesus. “I AM the gaining their soul.

Lose the world’s approval; I Approve ‘BE.’

Gain God’s Approval; it BE done their soul.”

What profit there BE if the world we stroll,

sought approval? Lose the world, gain the soul.

  1. Lose the world, gain the soul. The world is enticing, full of bait to draw one in. But playing by the world’s rules comes at a cost. Following its example leas to envy and greed. Let’s hear it for the soul

  2. “Let’s hear it for the soul” made me think of that FOOTLOOSE song, “Let’s hear it for the boy.” “Let’s hear it for the ‘hear’t,” while we’re letting and hearing (BOTH) it BE! 😉
