Father God, thank You that we pray with Hand-ME-Ups. Thank You that we are no hand-me-downs if Your Son and our Savior and Deliverer, Jesus Christ, is our Hand-ME-Ups. When we are passed down from one grief and one hurt (BOTH) to the next one, we have Heaven’s Son and one-to-One (BOTH). While we are down here in low towns with moaning sounds (BOTH), we drink not from the world’s hands holding cups. We drink from HIS Cup as HE Hand-ME-Ups. Thank You that we have His HeartLand to Hand-ME-Ups by His Hand. On a more personal note, here I am again writing about hands. It started off this morning with a text from a friend about praying, wherein I commented that many, including myself, pray ineffectively. I was reminded of: “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16). The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective when praying is talking to God while meditating is listening to God (BOTH). When we pray with Hand-ME-Ups, I pray we all will be praying to talk to God while meditating to listen to God (BOTH). I also pray that I will be praying to ask God to please help my hands to Hand-ME-Ups for nonhuman animals (see picture) and to listen for God’s Instruction regarding the same (BOTH). If I say I need not pray, for I have no sin and need not confess anything to anyone, then I have no powerful and effective Hand-ME-Ups. But I do have sin and do need to confess everything to everyone, so Hand-ME-Ups! I pray all of this in the Wonderful and Precious Name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every other name, including my own name. This prayer is answered by my faith and my belief. Please help me, Father God, where my faith and my belief are not Hand-ME-Ups. Amen.
(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope [BOTH] in Hand-ME-Ups this daily leavened [Jesus pass Ups!] bread.”)
Your existence is one of hand-me-downs.
You’re passed down from one grief to the next one.
God wants you Hand-me-Ups from the low towns.
You pray with your hands Up to Heaven’s Son.
My creation is one of hand-me-downs.
I’m passed down from one hurt to the next one.
God wants me Hand-me-Ups from moaning sounds.
I pray with my hands Up for one-to-One.
“I promise you that you’re not hand-me-downs,”
says Jesus. “You’re Hand-ME-Ups by My Hand.
You were made to pass Up from your let-downs.
You were made for Hands Up to My HeartLand.”
Please drink not from the world’s hands holding cups.
Please drink from HIS Cup as HE Hand-ME-Ups.
