a corrected heart

Father God, thank You that we grow with A Corrected Heart, The Heart of Jesus Christ, whose Heart needs no correction. This God Sonnet was inspired by a daily devotional line: “Correct anything in my heart that is not right so that it will not be reflected in my speech.” It also was inspired by the Bible Verse: “Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man (Matthew 15:11). If I’m to understand BOTH of these by way of “A Corrected Heart,” “not what goes into the heart defiles a man; but what comes out of the heart, this defiles a man.” It starts in the heart, and only by way of The Heart of Jesus Christ can we have a Fresh Start. Our hearts are deadline if we expect to correct our hearts ourselves. The world would want nothing more than to have us flow (defile) what goes into our heart and mouth (BOTH) and what comes out of our heart and mouth (BOTH). The Heart of Jesus Christ is no flow (no defile), only grow in LOVE. “Teacher, which is the Great Commandment in the Law.” Jesus said to him, ‘You shall LOVE your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the First and Great Commandment. And the Second is like it. You shall LOVE your neighbor as yourself. On these Two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 22:36-40). There is no Law and there are no Prophets (BOTH) if LOVE be the First and Second (BOTH) of the Great Commandment. Why? Because the First and Second (BOTH) Commandment is to take The Heart of Jesus Christ to LOVE God, ourselves and others (in that order). We gonna have no chance if we expect to correct our hearts ourselves. We gonna have all chances if we accept A Corrected Heart from the Heart of Jesus Christ that needs no correction. LOVE 24 HOURS, as the picture informs us. On a more personal note, I would LOVE to claim that I LOVE God, myself and others by way of my heart, but the truth is I can’t LOVE God, myself and others if LOVE be not by way of the Heart of Jesus Christ. I would LOVE to LOVE my way, but I can only LOVE by way of His Heart. I pray all of this in the Wonderful and Precious Name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every other name, including my own name. This prayer is answered by my faith and my belief. Please help me, Father God, where my faith and my belief are by way of my own heart. Amen.

(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope [BOTH] in A Corrected Heart, the Heart of Jesus Christ that needs no correction, this daily leavened bread.”)

You need a corrected heart, one so soft.

You need a corrected heart, one so strong.

God Corrects your heart to His Choir Loft.

God Corrects your heart in His Sing Along.

I need a corrected heart, one so light.

I need a corrected heart, one so strength.

God Corrects my heart to His Hope’s Delight.

God Corrects my heart in His Love’s Wavelength.

“Need A Corrected Heart? You can take MINE,”

says Jesus. “In fact, please, you take My Heart.

Your heart can’t correct itself; it’s deadline.

My Heart needs no correction; It’s Fresh Start.”

Are we gonna flow with the world’s flow chart?

Are we gonna grow with A Corrected Heart?

  1. I naturally resist the call to correct anything. I want to believe things are ok as they are. But I do believe in a fresh start. We are in a way reborn with every breath. Another way of saying we need a corrected heart?

  2. I love that “we are in a way reborn with every breath!” We are indeed reborn with every breath we take (The Police song, right?). Nothing like that concept to give us a Fresh Start and A Corrected Heart (BOTH)!
