“Father God, thank You that Every Word Be the Word of God. We can’t defeat the enemy with words of our own originality. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, did He not use Every Word of God and NOT words of His own originality to defeat Satan? Why do we sometimes think we can defeat Satan with words of our own originality when this wouldn’t have worked for Jesus either? When we are at a ‘firing squad’ (and we all will at some point and maybe many points), the Word of God comes to us as a ‘lightening rod.’ Did you know that ‘lightening rod’ has BOTH definitions? It means BOTH, ‘a metallic conductor that is attached to a high point and leads to the ground; protects the building from destruction by lightning’ AND ‘someone who is a frequent target of negative reactions and serves to distract attention from another.’ In this BOTH case alone, ‘lightening rod’ is the PERFECT word choice for this sonnet, i.e., we need BOTH protection from lightening from the sky AND protection from someone who targets and distracts us (BOTH) with negative reactions and attentions (BOTH). On a more personal note, this God Sonnet challenged me, for did I not write this God Sonnet with words of my own originality? Well, possibly, but I most desperately need to be quite sure with all my heart, mind, soul, and spirit that this God Sonnet I wrote contains NOT words of my own originality BUT quite sure contains Every Word Be the Word of God. ‘Every Word of God is Pure: He is a Shield unto them that put their trust in Him’ (Proverbs 30:5). Let us not forget to ‘pray when plod/prod’ and ‘pause when plod/prod’ (BOTH) each time we are teased and seized (BOTH) by Satan. Let Every Word of ours Be the Word of God as Pure and a Shield (BOTH) that I am quite sure deserves a nod. I pray all of this in the Wonderful and Precious and Eased Name of Jesus Christ, and this prayer is answered by BOTH my faith AND my belief. Please help me, Father God, where BOTH my faith AND my belief are lacking. Amen.”
(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope (BOTH) in Every Word Be the Word of God this daily leavened bread.”)
Let your every word be the Word of God.
Let your every heart beat the Word of God.
His Word comes to you as a “lightening rod.”
His Heart comes to you as a “pray when plod.”
Let my every word be the Word of God.
Let my every heart beat the Word of God.
His Word comes to me at a “firing squad.”
His Heart comes to me at a “pause when plod.”
“Let My Every Word Be your Word of God,”
says Jesus. “I used These when Satan teased.
Using your own words won’t ease Satan’s prod.
Using My Words will ease you each time you’re seized.”
Quite sure the Word of God deserves a nod.
Quite sure Every Word Be the Word of God.

Check out “God’s Little Creatures: A Children’s Daily Devotional with Animal Facts to Help Teach God’s Word” by Heather McCulloch that is available for sale at Amazon.com. I kind of wish I had actually wrote this book with Every Word Be The Word of God. But I can certainly buy the book….and I will! 😎
