“Father God, thank You that we ‘wait and SEE!’ Thank You that we have Your Son and our Savior and Deliverer, Jesus Christ, who SEES us and COMPLETES us (BOTH). Forget that famous line from the film, 🤷♂️ Jerry Maguire, where Jerry says to his girlfriend, ‘You complete me!’ NO! Not ONE can COMPLETE us but JESUS! Only Jesus of Nails holds our every hurt and every disturbance at every time! When they don’t SEE us but only ‘WORD’ us, we are called to ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do’ (Luke 23:34). On a more personal note, ‘HELLO?!?!’ This God Sonnet, once again, is EXACTLY where I am right now. More bad news came my way yesterday and most of my friends’ reactions were Job’s friends’ reaction, i.e., NOT seeing me right where I was but going STRAIGHT into pep-talks and ‘if you would only just believe!’ I will, in fact, ‘only just believe,’ but what I needed from these friends with this more bad news was to just see me right where I was. I’m sure they care about me, but they got it all backwards! I asked for prayers, and I got a pep-talk. If I had wanted a pep-talk, I would have asked for a pep-talk. I wanted ONLY prayers and ONLY wanted to be seen exactly where I was (BOTH) with this more bad news. The pep-talk needed to come AFTER that BOTH! All that said, once again, And on an even more personal note, I just wanted to learn about the story of Job from the Bible Study I lead every Sunday. I did NOT want to LIVE the story of Job! I’m in such a ‘Job light’ right now that I’m actually looking all over my body to see if I have developed ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do’ (Luke 23:34). ‘painful sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head’ (Job 2:7). I say this jokingly but am I joking? And I SEE you, my little doggie friend in the picture, and I won’t ever stop SEEing you! I pray all of this in the Wonderful and Precious and COMPLETE Name of Jesus Christ, and this prayer is answered by my faith and my belief. Please help me, Father God, where my faith and my belief are lacking. Amen.”
(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in ‘wait and SEE!’ how Jesus will SEE me and COMPLETE me [BOTH] with more bad news this daily leavened [Jesus MEets!] bread.”)
You want to be seen and not always heard.
You certainly want them to just see you.
They see you through a mirror darkly blurred.
Only God sees you Cleared and Perfect View.
I want to be seen and not always heard.
I certainly want them to just see me.
Their words are nails on chalkboard, none preferred.
Only Jesus of Nails sees me, won’t He?
“You’re right! Only I can SEE you COMPLETE,”
says Jesus. “Forgive them! They are NOT ME!
I will SEE you at every time we MEet.
I will COMPLETE you at every time. SEE!”
My Goodness, how “ungood” must it all BE?
Don’t know ’bout you, but God says, “wait and SEE!”
