“Father God, thank You that it is better to crawl than to not move at all. Many of us are used to the crawl and few of us run with You, never fall. Let me be the one who runs with You, never fall, but for now I do tend to crawl. But You will ALWAYS pick me up, God, from crushed to crawled to crowned! The crawl often enough is the ego’s thud. Help us to ALWAYS remember, Father God, that dull is our ego, Bright is The Credo of Your Son and our Savior and Deliverer, Jesus Christ. Jesus will ALWAYS deliver us from dull to Bright, for Bright is He who is ‘the same yesterday, today, and forever’ (Hebrews 13:8). Of course, we change, Father God, but Jesus is constant and consistent, never change, never fall, ALWAYS Bright! He is especially Bright when we are crawl. On a more personal note (I thought this prayer was pretty personal already), from dayfall to nightfall, Father God, you are rooting for me. You are watching me crawling constantly and consistently and cheering me on from crushed to crawled to crowned! Even when I can’t feel any of this is true, Your Word says all of it is true. If and when I get that crown, let me share it with others. And I would just love to share that crown with BOTH Your humans AND Your nonhuman animals. This is, after all, the walk (and crawl) and talk of my ‘move at all’ path with my Jesus Christ. I pray all of this in the Wonderful and Precious and Credo Name of Jesus Christ, and this prayer is answered by my faith and belief. Please help me, Father God, where my faith and my belief are lacking. Amen.”
(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope (and crawl) to hope in the ‘move at all’ path with my Jesus Christ, ‘the same yesterday, today, and forever,’ just this daily leavened [Jesus is Bright!] bread.”)
You are inclined to crawl in hours like these.
They say you are to walk but you to crawl.
You are moving, though, even if on knees.
Soon you’ll be running with God, never fall.
I am one to crawl and one to stumble.
They say, “Pick yourself up, you down to ground.”
I say, “No thanks. I wait on God humble.
Pick me up, God, from crushed to crawled to crowned!”
“It is better to crawl than stuck in mud,”
says Jesus. “The mud is the man’s ego.
To be stuck in mud is your ego’s thud;
dull is your ego, Bright is My Credo.”
We will need God from dayfall to nightfall.
Better to crawl than to not move at all.
