“Father God, thank You that we are coming to believe in everything Your Word has told and promised us. Thank you that when it comes to Your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ, there is NO pseudonym! Jesus is as real as our hands before our faces. And to know that right after Jesus, each of us is Your favorite son, Father God, is something the world can never take away from us. Each of us is Your favorite son when we are IN the world but not OF the world. BOTH we can’t have! What does it mean to be IN the world but not OF the world? For faith, for faith, for faith. For hope, for hope, for hope. For love, for love, for love. “ Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love–but the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13). IN the world, so easy for love. OF the world, so difficult for love. Another BOTH we can’t have! Help us, Father God, to do exactly what our little frog friend in the picture is doing: To hang on when we are on that tightrope, never to give up no matter what, for faith, for hope, for love– “but the greatest of these is love.” And speaking of “love,” we love BOTH Your humans AND nonhuman animals, Father God. We believed this Day One and maybe we lost this belief along the way because of anthropocentrism, but we now come to believe and still believe what we believed Day One. I pray all of this in the Wonderful and Precious and Believing Name of Jesus Christ, and this prayer is answered by my faith and my belief. Please help me, Father God, where my faith and my belief are lacking. Amen.”
(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope, to come to believe, for faith, for hope, for love–
-this daily leavened [Jesus Reprieves!] bread.”) ‘and the greatest of these is love’-
You are coming to believe in yourself.
You are coming to believe you need hope.
BOTH process AND progress in the itself.
You’ll get there but how high is that tightrope.
I am coming to believe in my strength.
I am coming to believe I need Him.
BOTH of these AND to believe any length
I’d go for my Jesus. No pseudonym!
“Come to believe in Me, as I believe,”
says Jesus. “I believed in you Day One.
How many days it’s been of your reprieve?
Each day have you been God’s favorite son.”
OF this world, there will be much misconceive.
IN this world, God as we come to believe.
