“Father God, thank You that we can get out of our selves and into Your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ. That we can get ‘in world’ and not get ‘of world.’ What a challenge, though, huh? We tell our selves that it’s about us, when the truth is it has nothing to do with us but everything to do with You, Father God, and Your Jesus and Your Holy Spirit. The false comfort of thinking it’s about us when in the True Comfort, it has nothing to do with us. None of it has ever been ours to hold because it’s never been about us from the very beginning. We didn’t hang the stars, sun, clouds, or moon in the sky. You, Father God, did that for us. How can it be about us when we didn’t create everything, including our selves? Let us be sold on You so we can go from ‘murky jerk’ to sweet of soul. ‘ What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?’ (Mark 8:36). Please don’t let us forfeit our souls, Father God, and we don’t have to when we’re not ‘of world’ and we get out of our selves. On a more personal note, as our little kitten friend informs us in the picture, when we look in a mirror, we see our selves and when we look in someone else’s mirror, we still see our selves. All those we encounter are simply mirrors of our selves. So, if we look in someone else’s mirror and we see all that aggravates us about them, we are really looking into a mirror at our selves and our own aggravation. It’s, as always, that ‘speck and plank thing.’ When I look in my mirror or someone else’s mirror, I want to see our humanity. And I know our humanity is Your Humanity, Father God, which is to be ‘human’e to BOTH humans AND nonhuman animals. For now, though, that mirror is as ‘through a glass darkly’ (1 Corinthians 13:12) but at the very end of the age, the mirror will be through a glass Lightly. My, how I long for that very end of the age! I pray all of this in the Wonderful and Precious and Key Name of Jesus Christ, and this prayer is answered by my faith and my belief. Please help me, Father God, where my faith and my belief are lacking. Amen.”
(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in getting out of world and out of my self and into Jesus this daily leavened [Jesus Comforts!] bread.”)
What if I told you, “It’s not about you?”
Would you still want world but put soul on shelf?
It does come down to this for your world view.
View you not ‘of this world.’ Get out of self!
What if I told my self, “‘My’ doesn’t work?”
None of my self was ever mine to hold.
I get out of what makes me “murky jerk.”
I’m really sweet of soul when God I’m sold.
“Get out of your self and get into Me,”
says Jesus. “Remind your self none is yours.
The false comfort is when you make you key.
The True Comfort is Me as you keep scores.”
They can get ‘of world’ all of their them selves.
We get ‘in world’ getting out of our selves.
