“Father God, please help us to fear less and forgive more. There’s nothing braver than forgiving those who hurt us. Your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ, is the Bravest One who ever was and proved it when all were hurting Him up on His Cross and yet He said to You, ‘Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they are doing’ (Luke 23:34). Help us to forgive like Jesus, ‘for they know not what they are doing’ when they hurt us. We know of this world, we have less time in store but in this world, we have time to fear less, forgive more. And help all humans to seek forgiveness for Your nonhuman animals they hurt SO, SO much in the name of domination and NOT dominion (NOT BOTH!). Dominion is to “care more,” while domination is to “care less.” I pray all of this in the Wonderful and Precious and Bravest Name of Jesus Christ, and this prayer is answered by my faith and my belief. Please help me, Father God, where my faith and my belief are lacking. Amen.”
(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in fearing less, forgiving more, and Loving Above all else, this daily leavened [Jesus is Brave!] bread.”)
You fear more and you forgive less. That’s fuss!
What if you forgave more and you feared less?
You would know peace the world cannot discuss.
You would know love the world cannot caress.
I fear more and I forgive less. That’s hurt!
Takes one to hurt me and all are my foe.
What if I feared less me they would desert?
What if I forgave more me they would woe?
“I came to lessen your fear, more forgive,”
says Jesus. “What if you picked up My Cross?
You’d know God’s Love is determinative.
Love determines if Love you take or toss.”
Of this world, we will have less time in store.
In this world, time to fear less, forgive more.
