(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in drowning in God’s Love just for today, this daily leavened bread.”)
You’re gonna have to go really deep down
to surface your buried and bruised treasures.
“I don’t want to go deep. What if I drown?”
What if you’re baptized in God’s deep pleasures?
I go deep and it ‘oft sinks me inside.
I’ve drowned time and time again for healing.
Just when I thought no way will I lakeside,
God surfaced me, brought me to revealing.
“My Father’s Heart is your deepest ocean,”
says Jesus. “You will NOT drown if you Love.”
We go really deep, sometimes slow motion,
to rise rapidly to heal Up Above.
Loving them all so difficult for us.
Drowning in God’s Love easy for Jesus.

I am very afraid to go deep even if that’s where the good stuff is

You’re not alone, Dag. Most are very afraid to go deep for fear of what they might find and/or they can’t or won’t come back from down there. I think it’s worth the “faith trip.” 😉
