(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in living for Jesus Christ through the last line of THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW theme song: ‘You’re gonna make it after all.'”)
You could take a nothing day and make it
something about how you are forgotten.
You could take a something day and make it
nothing but about how you are rotten.
I take a nothing day and I’m unseen.
I take a something day and I’m unloved.
My humbled, hurting heart hears, “You’re obscene!”
Why so mean? Have not I journeyed Beloved?
“I hear the humbled, hurting hearts out there,”
says Jesus. “I have one of those, as well.
There are humbled rooms Father God will spare
for the hurting. Knock or ring Heaven’s Bell.”
It is said that one day we’ll disappear.
God? Yes? Let our humbled, hurting hearts hear.
