(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in being raised up in the faith of God through His Son and my Savior, Jesus Christ.”)
Having faith in yourself won’t ease your drop.
Having faith in them won’t raise up your hopes.
You’re an admirable admiral, one nonstop
to raise freedom’s flag. When free, you’re still mopes.
When I raise up my faith, I’m self-centered,
thinking I have to raise me up for core.
I find that I’m trapped by my own entered
wisdom. My knowledge is a futile war.
“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for,”
things God raises to those who’ve lost their way.
Faith in God’s Ways is raised Christ, the Encore
of Love raised up High, hope for things we pray.
We can’t raise up what is already dead.
Faith is surrender flag raised thread by thread.
