TESTIFY!

(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in being a fisher of men [not fish] for Jesus and not ‘me’ magnify”)

You testify that you don’t have a clue

why you do what you do. Why bad when good?

Why hurt when joy? Why dead when revived. You

no longer “should” testify to “I should….”

I testify that nothing is my all,

that nothing is my everything with God.

Right now, I’m distressed. “God, please, not the fall!”

God says, “Nope! Not the fall! The fishing rod!”

“I testify you’ll be fishers of men,”

says Jesus. “No fish on hooks, just lost souls.”

Humans need to be caught on hooks. “Begin,

fresh fish, with Jesus. Men, get out your poles!”

We confess it’s no more “me” magnify.

We fish for men when we Love. Testify!

  1. I am NOT surprised at all, Dag! Maybe these Bible scriptures, Matthew 4:18-22, will help:

18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. 21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. 22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

To be disciples of Jesus, we must be fishers of men. We must let other men (and women) know about Jesus and follow Him as fishers of men. “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15) It becomes no longer about “ME” but about “THEM!”

Does that make better sense???? If it doesn’t, I completely understand. It sure wouldn’t make sense to me if I didn’t realize it’s no longer about ME; it’s about JESUS!!!!

    Blessings,
    Timothy
