(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in letting God be God and Timothy be Timothy, Timothy who God wonderfully made”)
If you made you, a different story.
You could both push the birth and pull the plug.
You could achieve a personal glory.
But you are NOT your pain, NOT your humbug.
I wanted a different storyline,
one where I got both the drive and the dream.
What I got was something better, Divine:
God who Loves me to the Heaven’s extreme.
“Immediately, her bleeding had stopped.”
End of your rope? The Hem of His Garment.
Jesus heals quickly when our hearts are chopped,
even loves the varmint, most the varmint.
God is a Love Story with us as “got.”
We “got” God’s Love when, “You’re God and I’m not.”
This is how I feel about now
“ I wanted a different storyline,
one where I got both the drive and the dream.
What I got was something better, Divine:”

Don’t forget the last line of that stanza, Dag: “God who Loves me to the Heaven’s extreme.” That’s definitely not a line you want to forget! 🙂
