(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in being ‘Dang, blessed!’ from the Free Gift of God’s Grace”)
“Dang, you’re blessed!” You got everything you need.
“Dang, you’re sad!” You’ve been hurt. You got it all
in front of you. Don’t you know you’ve been freed
from hurts? Jesus is “Dang!” each time you fall.
“Dang, I’m blessed!” I’m “new” in my older years.
“Dang, I’m sad!” I still hurt me from disgrace.
I don’t honor me. I still count my tears.
Christ counts them as battle scars to my face.
“Dang, we’re blessed! But it’s not based on our works.
If it were, blessed would no longer be Grace.”
We can’t earn Grace as though it were “work perks.”
Free Gift from God. When sad, that’s human race.
We make Jesus First; we are second best.
We make it about God’s Grace. “Dang, we’re blessed!”
I would love to feel grace and be blessed often.
