(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in me at decreasing, Jesus at Increasing”)
You must decrease, take the pain and bury
it deep down at Calvary. The Increase
is Jesus. What used to be death scary
is now life merry. Gone hours of decease.
“Decrease, Timothy,” whereby love can grow.
I lose nothing when I win at His Game.
When I love every last one, I’m Game Show,
“The Price is Right.” Right Price? Christ Overcame.
“Jesus must increase, but I must decrease.”
John was NOT Christ, only prepared The Way,
The Truth, The Life for Christ, The Prince of Peace.
We are NOT Christ. “We” clay can’t make “us” clay.
It’s not our squeaky wheels that get the grease.
It’s us at decrease, Jesus at Increase.
