“wHole”y Hope

“You and you and you….you gotta give ’em hope.” – famous quote from Harvey Milk (American politician and first openly gay elected official in the history of California who was assassinated on November 27, 1978, along with Mayor George Moscone, by fellow city supervisor, Dan White)

(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I ‘wHole’y Hope to grope for God’s Love just for today, this daily bread”)

You are hoping for a good turnaround,

a 360, you changed from drift to stay.

It’s not your physical that’s needing ground.

It’s your internals. That is why you stray.

I turn on a dime, a penny as well.

I try to rest when I’m feeling “do that,

do this,” make this or that happen pell-mell.

A sloth’s got a lot of nothing to spat.

“Yet this I call to mind; therefore I hope.”

“This” is “that” God’s Love is “wHole”y Holy.

We don’t have to do anything to grope,

for Love’s always there for the lost lowly.

Turnaround with”in’ for God has the scope

of “that” we need, and “this” we need is “wHole”y Hope.
