(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in processing the meaning behind my suffering, i.e., Jesus suffered, alas must I”)
You’d do anything just not to suffer,
not to pace a deep day away in dread.
You disguise it well as a strength bluffer.
“I’m strong. I can handle this.” Then, why fled?
I don’t want to suffer, to miss the Mark.
If I suffer too long, too much, I’ll cave.
I’ll be nothing left, nothing right, just dark.
Is suffering optional? Is the grave?
“And after you have suffered a ‘lil while….”
1 Peter Five:10 – Oh no! We’re ALL feared!
We won’t suffer forever, just a trial
of tears, a verdict of “not guilty, cleared.”
We’ll have to suffer in silence….for now.
For all time will we rest with God….for How!
