(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in keeping a log of God’s Numbers, i.e., how I loved just for today….and why”)
You’re 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5.
You stop for 6 and 7 and 8 and 9
and 10. Why? You run out of breath, the strive
to see love through, numbered divine incline.
I get to a hundred and I collapse.
I push myself that hard for profit gain.
I gain no profit without love. Perhaps?
The numbers don’t lie. Love counts. Love don’t wane.
“God is not human that God should tell lies.”
Numbers TwentyThree:19 – God don’t change,
same yesterday as today, same Love. Wise.
It’s only us who get it wrong, derange.
We can count on Love to take us that High.
God’s Numbers keep score of how we loved….why.
