(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in saying ‘HELLO” to things above [God, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit] and ‘GOODBYE’ to things down here”)
It’s like they all leave you eventually.
No one stays the course. They’re not wired that way.
Still, you sulk and scream consequentially.
Being left alone is your deepest gray.
Peel back my flesh, and there is forsaken.
Rip open my heart, and there is neglect.
Dissect my mind, and there is mistaken
identity; I have to redirect.
“Set your minds on things above, not down here.”
Colossians Three:2 – Flesh, heart, mind, those 3,
give way to 4: Christ’s Spirit is all near
and all dear to our fear of “nobody.”
They might very well leave us high and dry.
But Christ won’t. But Christ don’t. But they? “GOODBYE”
