(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; “it’s how I cope to hope in telling THAT sting to God, myself, and to another, NOT tomorrow but TODAY”)
“Can I talk to you about everything?”
You hide your pain. You’re ashamed to be seen.
Don’t you know it needs the light that will bring
you, “that felt good?” Gone your hurts as a teen.
I want to talk to you about it all.
To split me open, rip me deep, expose
me to your light. “Wow! That’s ugly! Appall!”
I stitch me up. Maybe tomorrow. For now? FROZE!
“Draw near. Wash your hands. Purify your hearts.”
James 4:Eight – God says, “I’m your redemption.
Talk to me about everything. The starts
and stops. No traffic lights. Just exemption.”
We can talk to God about everything.
“No! Not THAT!” Yes, THAT! THAT right there! THAT sting!
