(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; it’s how I cope to hope in stuff from God and not stuff of this world that is falling away)
You are omniscient. That’s your pitfall,
the why you are in constant crave of things
the world can give. You got too much the small:
Little man in big mess acclaiming kings.
I’m a kid in a candy store gone nuts.
Not just for nuts but for all things so sweet.
Problem, though, is I get sick quick, spew guts,
for I have tasted the world’s tainted treat.
“Do not love either the world or the things.”
First John Two:15 – The world falls away.
Things, too. And what is left? Only God’s Strings
to pull us toward Him. The rest? Decay.
We must stay out of hoarders’ homes, that stuff.
‘Cause we need not nothing but God: Enough.
