(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret; it’s how I cope to hope in my ups, middles and downs being His Ups, Middles, and Downs)
You are living in ups, middles, and downs.
Your ups are when you say, “Jump!” They, “how high?”
Your middles are when your golds turn to browns.
Your downs are when you want death’s mummify.
I got those three, too. I’m direction-bound.
My ups are when you got me on your mind.
My middles are when you got me come round.
My downs are when you got me “leave behind.”
“I will not leave you as Orphan Annie.”
John 14:Eighteen – “I will come to you.”
Whether ups, middles, downs, nook or cranny,
God is There, no matter Where, Talking to.
