So, I’ve pulled away or you’ve pulled away….or BOTH! Or I’ve pushed away or you’ve pushed away…or BOTH! On any note, I feel compelled to ask you and me this multiple choice question:
I (you) have pulled away or pushed away because:
a. too busy
b. too scared
c. too ashamed
d. all of the above.
Here is how I answer this: Without a shadow of a doubt (“and even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…. Psalm 23:4), I am D! BIG TIME!
What is your answer? Can I be so bold as to give my interpretation for our (“we”) choice? Who are we kidding? You know I’m gonna’ do it (and if I’m “wrong,” no problemo):
If “we” answered, (a), that’s BS! Nobody is “too busy” not to be there for another who is hurting (“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” – John 15:13). And we are not even being asked to “lay down a life for a friend,” just to check up on another in need. And, yes, I’m honest enough to admit: I am “another in need.” So, “too busy” just don’t fly. Sorry!
If “we” answered (b), we are not alone. But then there are those who are most strong in faith (or denial….haha) and are not scared at all because they know where they are going when all this is said and done. I still think there is a tinge of “BS” (or a lot?) in that one, though. Just keeping it real! But your answer is YOURS!
If “we” answered (c), we need to know just this: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9. Don’t let shame be our game! It’s got a hold on me, for sure!
If “we” answered (d), welcome to my world!!!!
THE “REAL” SOLUTION: The multiple choice answer is YOUR answer, NOT mine. Just because I posed the question don’t mean you have to even answer it! However you care to answer it (or not), just answer it in TRUTH. And please know I don’t need to know your answer, because that is none of my business (although I try to make it my business….haha). Furthermore, “action answers” speak louder than words!
God Bless you and me in the pull away or push away!
