(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret, dedicated to the “corner mourner,” for he or she will be comforted)
Why did you have to go through all of that?
You don’t know. You don’t understand. You hide
in dark corners, face in, back out, feet flat,
eyes shut, but your hands? They search far and wide.
It takes just one utterance of a sound,
harsh and hard, to send me to my corner.
Even a blank stare, and I’m sent hellbound.
Trauma-bound, best said, and I’m a MOURNER!
“Happy are mourners for comfort awaits.”
Matthew Five: Four – Let us mourn all day long.
For Jesus knows, understands, all the hates
from them was His Victory, our swan song.
So, grieve with me ’cause all will be okay.
We can leave our corners. He makes the way.
