(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret, which is a “followup” to the [not] God Sonnet written yesterday, “EYE” SAY,)
I wrote a sonnet yesterday, “EYE” SAY,
“You let me down, God. You clearly don’t care.”
I was the all the loss, the grief; away.
I found the pills stored up and the nightmare.
Today, I am coming home from the WAR.
The return from hell again; I’m all spent.
I’m the all mangled, all ripped up, all gore.
I’m now rest, now most assuredly Lent.
When we have lost and grieved the past so deep,
we now will seek comfort around the clock.
And when the “now” goes “back-WARd,” and we weep,
yes, God, yes, God, yes, God, yes, we must knock.
ASK: Ask, Seek, Know or Accept, Stay Kitten.
Yes, pray to God, tear out the hair; Smitten.
