YOUR YOUTH

YOUR YOUTH
(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret, for me to be your angel and maybe you to be mine intimately through The Spirit of God’s Unconditional Love)

What do you do when your world falls apart?
What do you do when Sunshine is gone?
You bolt the doors, curtains closed, and you start
for the Ends. “How will I ever go on?”

All meant well say, “It will work out, just rest.”
But you ain’t buying it; you could care less.
You got hell to deal with even at best.
When you lose everything, yes, yes, a mess.

But it’s when you are weak that you are strong.
A God who always will love you way close.
But maybe you don’t “get” God; He’s all wrong.
Trust me, I’ll be your Angel grandiose.

In chaos, you will come to know the Truth.
That you will receive Graced Days of your youth.

Thank you, Susan. I wrote it for a person I had never met, someone who a friend of mine told me about and that she was going through hell….like most of us! We can recall “our youth” and even if it was terrible, we can still get in touch with that “lost child” and we can begin to champion that child who missed out on so much. We can be a parent to that “lost child” and advocate for him or her who never got what he or she needed.
