BLOTCHES

(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret….with a Bible Verse)

BIBLE VERSE: From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. – Galatians 6:17

I got blotches and blotches, more to spare.

I got stains that drain, marks and dots and spots.

Red welts cover me head to toe; nowhere

am I wound-free or bruiseless or gunshots.

They took me down low into the morgue room.

They ripped me open and couldn’t believe

how clean I was inside; no need for broom.

I tricked them by skin; they expected grieve.

I bleed with Jesus, and His Scars are mine.

Abandonment and sin and “dead,” are His.

“His mine and my His” is our stained port wine.

Together, we both share in God’s Blessed ‘Biz.

Don’t hide them blotches you got dread and red.

Show ’em, parade ’em, don’t put ’em to bed.
