(God’s Sonnet by Timothy J. Verret, about how God IS our Champion)

I wear an “ANIMAL CHAMPION” shirt.

I bought it from the ASPCA.

I go to bat for animals; their hurt

is what I want to erase, no delay.

In contemplation of God’s Word today,

the word, “uphold,” held me in a”hold” spell.

“Champion” in classification, does say

that “uphold” means “advocacy” foretell.

God’s Shirt says, “TIMOTHY CHAMPION.” Does fit.

He is my Advocate, my Rock, my Friend.

He goes to bat for me. He just don’t quit

seeing me, hearing me. His Hand to lend.

Know that God champions you by first name.

“_________ CHAMPION” is the shirt He does proclaim.
